Monoprinting - painterly printmaking

Four Morning Workshop

Course Dates: Wednesday 11,18, 25 May & 1 June 10am-1pm

Venue: Pressmore Studio, Ashley Green (between Berkhamsted & Chesham)

Mono-printing is a direct and spontaneous method of working in printmaking with an extensive range of effects. This workshop covers the use of tools to create arange of marks used in creating a monotype. Participants will be able to experiment with the combination of techniques to create a series of prints. Printing mediums used will include watercolour paints, water miscible oils and water miscible oil pastels. Printing will be done on a 35cm printing press.

Refreshments will be provided.

Materials needed:

All materials will be provided. Three clear monoprint plates cut to the size. A sheet of somerset printing paper per session (each sheet is normally enough for four prints) Water miscible oil paints, watercolour paints and water miscible oil pastels will be provided

Please bring:

Protective clothing - apron or similar Sketch book/ ideas for prints Paint brushes suitable for water colours and oil paints, if you have favourites of your own.
