I currently live and work in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and have run a graphic design business for the last 25 years. I have always loved drawing, but it was not until 1999 that I finally embarked on a degree in Fine Art.

My work combines a variety of media - charcoal and pastels, acrylics, oils, collage, photography, and my style is very much a result of this multi-material approach. I enjoy exploring the intrinsic qualities of all sorts of media, and, equally importantly, believe in the importance of traditional drawing skills. I still work with video, and admire the work of artists such as Dryden Goodwin and William Kentridge, who combine pure drawing and the moving image - drawings with a time-line. I am always conscious that we owe a huge debt to artists long dead: the drawings of Michelangelo - and his Slaves, where the figures emerge from the rough-hewn stone are almost like a moving image. Titian, El Greco, Rembrandt ... as artists, let’s not forget our heritage.

Over the last ten years I have exhibited both individually and with groups in and around Hertfordshire, East Anglia and the home counties.
