Artist’s Statement

The subject matter for my work comes from observations of the area in which I live. The quarries and canals provide the basis for a lot of my work. I return to the same sites to get familiar with them before being able to 'translate' the landscape into a painting. It is my response to these landscapes with their shapes, colours and textures which fascinate me.

Presently living in Leighton Buzzard, on the borders of the Bucks, Beds & Herts counties.
